Crystal Coast Boats uses all of its extensive knowledge and expertise to help clients fulfill their dreams of owning the ‘right’ boat and avoiding the pitfalls that are often common in the purchasing process.

Both US Coast Guard licensed Captains, Steve Miller and Harold O’Briant have over 70 years of combined experience.  They’re dedicated to helping the novice find their first boat or the experienced find the right ‘next’ boat. They carefully interview and match the customer’s wants, needs, limitations and expectations and strive to help any boater find their ‘dream’ boat.

Captain Steve and Captain Harold share a passion for boating and are semi-retired.  They can afford to take the time to find the ‘right’ boat for a customer and not be in a hurry to just ‘sell a boat’. They would rather have a few very happy, satisfied clients rather than a number of disillusioned ones. They’re lucky enough to be in a position where they work for the passion and not the profit.

They believe that customer service and follow-up are paramount in the package you get with Crystal Coast Boats.  They’ve helped customers through the survey and sea-trial process, assisted in transporting the ‘right’ boat home to its new owners and even trained the new owners in the handling and operations of their new purchase.  As a retired IBM executive, negotiating IBM software contracts, Captain Steve is proud to use his savvy negotiating skills to help his clients get the right boat at the best deal possible.

When he’s not working for his clients, Captain Steve is working as Chairman of the annual Crystal Coast Boat Show, now in its eight year.  The boat show, one of the largest in North Carolina, has grown every year and is not only a showcase for the finest boats in the region, but has become a major event on the Crystal Coast calendar. The show has a sterling reputation for doing it the right way and local boat dealers eagerly participate.

A Vietnam veteran, Captain Harold has been in boating all of his life and is a member in the United States Power Squadrons, the world’s largest private boating education organization. A member for more than 20 years, he enjoys teaching the many boating courses offered by the organization and has held a number of local and regional offices during his tenure.

Both Captain Harold and Captain Steve have personally owned and operated a myriad of powerboats, from 14 foot runabouts to 55 foot motor yachts.  Their expertise and connections in the powerboat world have proven invaluable to their clients over the years.

Give Captain Steve and Captain Harold a call.  They love to talk boats.
